"cute-sexy-girly-synth-pop music from the future... you know, dance music."
KBOT is the NYC duo of vocalist Lira Son and audio-twister Mitch Wells. They met at a friend's party in August, 2007 - found common aesthetic ground - and got right to work producing music. KBOT self-released their debut album, Dropping Magic, in March, 2008.
Sound: KBOT pours pop vocals over an assortment of electronic styles; from progressive house to breakbeats and jungle. KBOT songs employ funky guitars, broken robots, and a general sense of trippiness, brought together with an obsessively tight production style.
History: Mitch was the naked keyboardist in the 2 Skinnee J's, and half of NYTQ (whose discorgraphy includes a jungle track on Smile Communications, along with remixes of Praga Khan and Lords of Acid.) He worked closely with Trendroid on a variety of releases including Transpost 5. His single, Where I, on Matthew Dekay's DK label was supported by the likes of Digweed, Zabiela, Oakenfold and Pete Tong.
KBOT sounds kinda like and/or
plays well with:
Kylie Minogue, Erasure, Madonna,
Bjork, BT, Alphaville, Depeche Mode,
Chemical Brothers, Fat Boy Slim,
Daft Punk, Yaz
